The other day I was thinking I’d build another hovercar, like my 2059 Cadillac or my remake of Justin’s red aircar.
But as I was sifting through a bin of curved parts, the idea came to me to build a school bus when I saw some yellow Brick 2 x 4 x 1 & 1/3 with Curved Top (6081) parts.

LEGO Models that I have created
WALL-E
I’m a little late into the LEGO Wall-E modeling craze, but when I had the idea of using minfig legs for the head, I couldn’t resist.
I had the idea when I balanced a minifig on his head on a silicone LEGO coaster and my wife saw it and thought it was WALL-E at first. I thought “Hmm, ya know, those legs do look a little like WALL-E’s eyes….” and went to work.
Caltrain F40PH v2
This is my second attempt at modeling a Caltrain diesel locmotive, as seen running commuter trains between San José and San Francisco, CA.
Justin’s Aircar Reimagined
At a recent BayLUG Space meeting, Justin brought a red aircar that he had built several years before.
Classic Space NASCAR
Inspired by the NASCAR fad that’s been going around the Flickr LEGO community, I built this using the layout photo from mikepsiaki. However I thought I’d do one with the Classic Space esthetic….
Miniland Classic Spaceman
My version of a spaceman from the Classic Space of the early 80’s. Built to "miniland scale" like the models in Miniland in the Legoland theme parks.
Lounge Chair
My newest model is made from only 9 parts, but I think it’s a pretty cool thing.
2059 Cadillac El Dorado
Last night I was surfing around the Legoverse trying to find some inspiration to build something space-related, and I came across the Building The Future That Never Was Contest on classic-space.com. I got to thinking about the whole retro-future thing, and thought of doing a Jetsons-style aircar, which of course means using the clear dome, and then I thought of capturing the Cadillac fins of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
Another 2006 Garden Gnome by another Bill posted by another Ward
In Ted Ward’s pictures from Northwest BrickCon 2006 I came across a picture a while ago of a garden gnome, created by Bill Volbrecht, former LEGO Master Builder.
Blackburn Hotel
The Blackburn Hotel is a building that I have displayed may times as a part of the Bay Area LEGO Train Club layouts at train shows and meetings, but never blogged about.
December 29, 2001: SC-01 Prospector
Here’s another old post from my old site, a small space MOC.
Little House Instructions
Recently I posted about some little houses that I had built for the BayLTC train shows.
Little Houses
I built a trio of small houses (16×16 stud footprint) as practice in building in different architectural styles with LEGO. There is a Victorian with bay window, a house with a dormer window in the roof, and a steeply-roofed house.
Caltrain F40PH Locomotive
I keep building stuff and using it in BayLTC displays but not posting them online
Here’s another example. This locomotive was built a few years ago, not long after I first got the Super Chief, which sadly has long been discontinued. Like the Super Chief, the top lifts off and it has a control cab with prime mover motor modeled inside. I also added a head-end unit.
United Air Lines DC-3
When my father left the Navy and joined United Air Lines in the late 1950’s, he flew this plane, the DC-3.
Lunar Mobile Lounge
My newest Space creation is the Lunar Mobile Lounge, which has actually been at several BayLUG meetings, even though I never posted about it here.
San Ladrillo Suburban Train Station
For the past year or so, the train station on the Bay Area LEGO Train Club layouts at train shows and museums has been my San Ladrillo Suburban Train Station.
